The telecommunication infrastructure is vulnerable to natural disasters, governmental intervention or simply limited due to inadequate coverage. This is where Satcube comes in to enable doctors, journalists and first response to establish a satellite internet connection in under a minute.
Satcube's goal is to provide highly portable satellite communication devices that can be used by anyone, anywhere. We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our team to design and test the parts that make this possible!
What is the job about?
The mechanical engineering / R&D team in Karlstad is looking for additional hands and brains to join us! In Karlstad, in collaboration with the Gothenburg office, we develop the prototype of the terminals of the future and see it through till the very release.
If you enjoy designing high quality products for securing satellite Internet using industry standard CAD-software, in a vibrant, active workplace, then this job is for you.
As a mechanical engineer at Satcube, you’ll be working tightly in a design team consisting of designers/product developers in Karlstad and in Gothenburg.
CAD program of choice is Creo Parametric and you’ll be a part of developing prototypes to fully fledged models of our next-generation satellite terminals. Further, you’ll apply changes and revisions of the current products. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Drafting prototype designs and maintaining design changes of current products
- Working with MBD and GD&T to ensure correct design intent.
- Explore Mechanisms, Thermal and Mechanical simulations in Creo Parametric to make optimized parts.
- Frequent collaboration with Gothenburg automation-, and hardware design team

Required experience:
- A relevant bachelor, master’s, or other technical degrees. (Mech. Eng, Mechatronics, Technical Physics)
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience with mechanical design / product development.
- Proficient using Creo Parametric.
- Proficient talking and writing English.
Desired experience:
- Familiar with fundamentals of 3D printing, lathe and milling.
- Interest in mechatronics.
- Experience with technical polymers.
- Comfortable speaking technical English
- Likes to fika and nerd out.
