Satcube is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technical organisation and drive the development of both current and next‑generation satellite communication products.

As our CTO, you will play a central role in shaping our technology strategy, guiding our engineering team, and ensuring that Satcube remains at the forefront of innovation in a rapidly evolving industry.

Satcube is in the process of transforming from a hardware producer to a service provider, hence the need to strengthen the software competence and system integration.

This is a leadership role for a team consisting of 15 team members, whereof 9 are permanent employees. We have a tight collaboration with universities and consultants to ensure we get access to the latest research and technology, and as a CTO you secure a professional leadership also of our external team members.

The CTO leads projects, product development within hardware and software, including embedded systems, is responsible for IP and acts system & product owner.

The CTO reports directly to the CEO and works closely with all parts of the organisation to ensure alignment between technology, product development, and business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research and technology initiatives to support both current and future Satcube products including evaluation of new technologies and ensuring successful integration into the product design.

• Lead our product development including software, embedded software and hardware (RF systems, mechatronics, electronics, and mechanical design).

• Leadership of the team working with product development and leadership of our Industrial PhD program in RF.

• Contribute to long‑term technology roadmaps and strategic planning. Translations of customer needs into technical requirements.

• Develop and maintain Satcube’s intellectual property strategy.

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements

A relevant background for the position would be experience from leading product development that ideally includes both hardware, software and embedded systems.

You can make decisions within your areas of responsibility with a holistic understanding of technical and business implications. You manage to set clear priorities and control the scope of the projects in order to manage execution of projects running in parallel.

You foster strong internal collaboration across all departments and can build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and service providers.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical education).

• Deep understanding of technologies relevant to Satcube’s products, including their strengths and limitations.

• Competence in system design, architecture and integration

• Strong proficiency in programming languages, (Rust & C and Python).

• Strong proficiency in embedded software programming.

• Proven experience of delivering products (with software/embedded software) to the market according to plan including operations/aftermarket throughout the lifecycle.

• Experience of products where security is critical is meritorious.

• Ability to take a holistic view of system‑level design, cause‑and‑effect relationships, and implementation trade‑offs.

• Excellent command of English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
